Why? Because it's a really good song but also because he stood and warmed up the crowd with the line "Come ye, come ye, to soulless corporate circus tops".
One can only admire his cheek!
I met him through a friend, and was thrilled to find that Frank was not only a fan of The Kitchen but also—though once embraced by the left—a thoroughly libertarian gentleman.
But don't take my word for it—just listen to Sons of Liberty (especially the coda)...
So if ever a man should ask you for your business or your nameI have had lots of fun with Mr Frank Turner—I highly recommend supporting him. Apart from anything else, he's a very nice chap...
Tell him to go and fuck himself, tell his friends to do the same.
Because a man who'd trade his liberty for a safe and dreamless sleep
Doesn't deserve the both of them, and neither shall he keep.

First came across Frank when he was on Green Day's bill at Wembley Stadium. Loads of my lefty friends think he's wonderful. I'll have great fun de-bunking those myths
My son discovered him before I did - I must be getting old - but Sons of Liberty is excellent and decidely anti-political rather than left wing.
A little too earnest to be truly great, but not bad. If only the sheeple realised what freedoms are being lost...
