I am also sensitive to Robert Sharp's argument that...
... deleting a blog feels like a book-burning. Its an unlikely form of self-censorship, and feels very wrong.
As such, I am contemplating following the advice given by a couple of commenters, which is to resurrect The Kitchen—at the devilskitchen.me.uk URL (which this blog is currently using)—but with a warning/disclaimer on the front page. This will ensure that all but the most recent links will work, whilst this blog would move to a new URL—possibly thedevil.org.uk—and would be maintained as my current site.
I'm still swithering slightly about this course of action, so please feel free to let me know your opinion in the comments.

Yes please. :-)
Yes please, would love to see the archives :)
Do it, Devil. Don't let the cultural Marxists win, please!
Anything that saves the archives which you put years of effort into and are hugely instructive as well as being responsible for turning many dissafected individuals, such as myself, to the libertarian cause has got to be a good thing.
Archives would be nice
Hmm pity you can't have custom 404 handlers on Blogger. ;)
So choice is sacrifice your domain name with all the Google and Bookmarking love and bring back the old stuff, or retain that stuff and keep the old posts lost...
Neither choice is especially enviable tbh. Personally? I never look back, but that's just me.
Time to be selfish. There is a lot of your old stuff it would be useful to be able to look back to, but do what feels right.
It's nothing like a book burning - it's not being done to you, it's you doing it. Like Auden requesting his letters be burnt when he died. They were your words, your creation, yours to do as you please with.
Personally - I'd leave them down but made sure I kept a copy offline.
Why did you delete the archives in the first place?
Also, please bring them back. I loved reading through your archives. :/ It was my education in how swearing *should* be done. Heh heh.
For purely selfish reasons I'd put my weight behind having archives at the devilskitchen URL, and the new less sweary devil at a new URL which I would hope not to have been blocked as pornography by the proxy filter at work -- I think the lurid Polly/Gordon fanfics were what did it.
Take a leaf out of Sharon Osbourne's book: send Brillo Pad a box of human shit, and get back to doing what you did best. And never go on TV again, you were crap!
