Many grateful thanks to Harry Haddock of Nation of Shopkeepers for, due to his hard work and diligence, your humble Devil finally has a functioning server again.
And that, of course, means that fakecharities.org is back!
I shall be ressurecting other sites as I go along; it may take a little while to pull everything back up but we'll get there...
Making everyone happy is impossible. Pissing them off is a piece of cake. I like cake.

Sweet as a nut.
I submitted half a dozen a couple of days before the site went *pop*, are they in a queue, or do I have to do it all again?
I see you haven't got Will Hutton's Work Foundation on the list yet, I'm sure I included that one.
Hurrah! Have added it to my blogroll under 'Resources'.
I think it'll come in very useful....
I like the concept behind fakecharities.org, and I understand that you are not a charity yourself.
But the Google AdSense ads might not be the best of ideas I'm afraid.
For example:
Charity Tick Mark
Helping UK Charity Donors to Give with Confidence.
GiveWithConfidence.org.uk/Charity
and from their site:
Our role & history
The Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB) runs the only self-regulating scheme for fundraising bodies in the UK. We are supported by the Office of the Third Sector, the Scottish Government and the Welsh Assembly Government.
And let's face it, all charities funded by me through theft are likely to be able to afford to advertise for more of my money.
It's an accident waiting to happen.
In fact I just clicked on the ASH page and note an ad to
www.realdanger.co.uk
Which is a Pfizer funded site - so pretty much a direct ad on the page about themselves.
You would be better to run Message Space or similar network afiliates here.
Au contraire Shug. I have just seen a link for gardian.co.uk/planuk and clicked it a few times. I think there is a delicious paradox in that the fakecharities links generate income for a site which informs people about fake charities. Depending on the algorithms at play, its likely that the mention of a specfic fake charity on the site would increase the chance of a google ad on there. I suggest that when people use they click on as many links as possible.
Your new site linked to here

Good luck with this work, and keep on checking out who's holding the begging bowl...
NNW.
Looks good. Great to see this up and running at last.
Does the submission form accept HTML tags in the content (e.g. for embedding links to annual reports, and so forth)?
I will add this to my "Good Stuff" link list straightway. My reader might well be interested.
Shug,
ChrisM has pretty much answered you here: "Au contraire Shug. I have just seen a link for gardian.co.uk/planuk and clicked it a few times. I think there is a delicious paradox in that the fakecharities links generate income for a site which informs people about fake charities."
I have also registered charitywatch.org.uk but then the ads are all for Rolex watches...!
Deadbeat Dad,
"Does the submission form accept HTML tags in the content (e.g. for embedding links to annual reports, and so forth)?"
Just paste the URL in there. At present we have to validate and enter the charities ourselves (we're looking into an automated system) so as much info as you can give us is brilliant.
And if anyone would like to help out with the above entries, do please drop me a line...

Two faced Lord Tony of Bliar, was awarded $1,000,000 for being a good chap. As this came from an Israeli foundation and so would not go down well with the Palestinians, Saint Tony says this will be put into his faith foundation. This is the first time I have ever heard of a mortgage for a country mansion being called an act of faith.
Pete-s, of course it's an act of faith. The Blairs' whole career has been operating on a wing and a prayer.
SUGGESTION:
Maybe the "stated aims" could be reviewed historically, i.e. see if these have changed over time. Then we can see if any were hijacked and when.
I bet a load of "envo-wibble" has crept in, for sure.
Excellent work Mr Kitchen. Post and link up.
Great idea this, but I don`t see one of the biggest cesspools of all listed on the site - Common Purpose

Re above: a short, interesting, but informative fillum
The charity "Migrant Helpline" is worthy of scruitiny I believe.
