On the anniversary of the smoking ban, I popped into the Strangers bar of the House of Commons and took this little video...
Hands up anyone who is surprised that there were no repercussions when two people went and lit up in a House of Commons bar.
Anyone? Bueller...?
P.S. I've also uploaded the video to YouTube...
UPDATE: a class entry from Mac The Knife...
Shocked witnesses stood by open mouthed as two terrorists carried out a violent and desperate attack on staff in The Stranger's Bar at the palace of Westminster today.
Without any warning they drew two weapons and ignited them before discharging poisonous fumes indiscriminately around the room. The weapons, known as 'cigarettes' produce a substance on ignition known as 'smoke'. According to informed sources, this 'smoke' is ten million times more deadly than Zyklon B.
All the other people in the room must have been immediately incapacitated or killed, as absolutely no attempt was made to stop or apprehend these inhuman monsters. At the time of writing, they are still thought to be at large.
Sorry for quoting at such length, Mac, but that's just priceless...

Minge says I'm not naughty, just filthy and depraved. When given the opportunity.
Trixy or DK, may I post that at RiU and forward it video to F2C? It deserves a wider audience...
You can also smoke in prison if you're a prisoner, but not if you work there.
It seems criminals are now the only ones who can smoke indoors...
...including those pictured.
Mac,
Of course. That's the point of it!

Please do forward on.
Just checking, Mummy said to ask nicely... :)
Was that Miss Trixy's arm I saw dangling so enticingly before the lens? Corrr what a scorcher! Was she a gorgeous pouting Star Bird in a former life? I think we should be told.
Trixy maintains that it is not her. This is probably true: were it her, you would probably find that the entire shot was obscured by her cleavage...

As it is a Palace, I think they maybe legally entitled to smoke within the House of Commons. Whether, on the other hand, there is a ban in place...

"As it is a Palace, I think they maybe legally entitled to smoke within the House of Commons."
They are.
"Whether, on the other hand, there is a ban in place..."
Well, they maintain that there is, nonetheless, a ban throughout the House of Commons. Not least because people noticed that, whilst they were banning everyone else, they themselves were technically exempt from the law.

Do they serve stale cake?
If only we could guarantee that extending the ban to the Palace of Westminster would have the same effect on that establishment as the thousands of pubs you mention!
My pleasure squire... ;)
I couldn't resist.....
