Pimp my United Nations

It is unusual for EU Referendum to leave anything out of their detailed assesments, but I am afraid that today they have missed out one piece of information.
[Colonel Muammar Gaddafi] used the Summit to attack the UN, insisting that it is a dictatorship and has no right to preach democracy. As a matter of fact, we had not realized that the UN was preaching all that much democracy, spending as it does a great deal of time, pacifying and financing dictators and attacking the West, particularly the United States, and, of course, Israel.

Did you spot what the missing bit was? Well, apart from supporting Saddam Hussain (piss be upon him) through the Oil-For-Food corruption, the activity that the UN is really talented at is pimping out children (from November '06).
There are many who aver that we should look to the UN to solve the problems of the world. Well, all I can say is that if I ever find myself stumped as to how best to pimp out, blackmail and fuck disadvantaged kids in the hellholes of the world, the UN will almost certainly be able to solve my problem.
Children have been subjected to rape and prostitution by United Nations peacekeepers in Haiti and Liberia, a BBC investigation has found.

Girls have told of regular encounters with soldiers where sex is demanded in return for food or money.

A senior official with the organisation has accepted the claims are credible.

The UN has faced several scandals involving its troops in recent years, including a DR Congo paedophile ring and prostitute trafficking in Kosovo.

The assistant secretary-general for peacekeeping operations acknowledges that sexual abuse is widespread.

If I hadn't already been utterly unsurprised by the litany of appalling abuse detailed in the Beeb's article, I would have said that the real scandal is that the peacekeepers have probably been undercutting the local whores' prices...

And the wonderful thing about the UN, you see, if that they are a pan-global organisation so that their staff pimping, blackmailing and fucking kids is not confined to any one area; they get to run their protitution rings on every continent (from May '06).
He also refers to this story of a continued sex-for-aid programme, a systematic exploitation of children of young as eight in return for a couple of tubs of gruel. I imagine that the poor kids think a little more carefully than David Copperfield did when asking, "please, sir, can I have some more" and that their meaning, whilst the same as Dickens' character, ends up with the same amount of pain and humiliation.
Girls as young as eight are being forced to have sex in exchange for food by workers for local and international agencies, according to its report.

Ah, and who might these unspecified "local and international agencies" be, I wonder?
The United Nations promised to put safeguards in place after sexual abuse in the refugee camps of West Africa was first revealed four years ago.

But a study by Save the Children, which involved speaking to more than 300 people in camps for people displaced by the war, found that abuse was still widespread.

The report said that all of the respondents clearly stated that more than half of the girls in their locations were affected.

Girls from the age of eight to 18 years were being sold for sex, "commonly referred to as 'man business'," the report noted.

What the fuck? Seriously, this is just beyond the fucking pale, it really is. But apparently it isn't just the aid workers either; the old joke about improving one's grades by staying after school for some "special tuition" is not a joke in these areas.
But government officials and teachers are also contributing to the abuse, Save the Children says.

Teachers have demanded sex in lieu of school fees, or even just to give good grades, the report found.

Now what the fuck is this shit? What the fuck is wrong with these people?
The UN's Humanitarian Co-ordinator in Liberia, Jordan Ryan, also said specific allegations would be investigated.

"Unfortunately not all international NGOs have taken it seriously. But it is a clear priority," he said.

A clear priority? So it fucking well should be. I repeat that this is simply not acceptable. These people should not be fired: they should have their balls cut off, without anaesthetic, in front of all their fellow workers pour encourager les autres, and then sent to prison with their crime tattooed on their foreheads.
"We have never done enough until there's a zero case load. Has enough been done? Not yet. Are we working on it? You bet we are."

WELL, GET ON WITH IT, YOU FUCKS. One suspects that part of the problem is that almost the entirety of the local—and possibly non-local, too—supply chain is involved in this filthy practice. It makes one want to weep.

Whatever, is happening out there, the UN are ultimately responsible. It is bad enough that they are not stopping the problems amongst other agencies: that they themselves are involved is absolutely unacceptable. Annecdotal evidence that I have heard first-hand from people who have worked for the UN back up these allegations.

So, there you go: if you are a paedophile, just go and work for the UN and you too can not only fuck kids but actually get them to bring in a bit of cash too.

But watch out: the UN is treating the stamping out of this disgusting practice as "a clear priority", so you may well find yourself in hot water in a couple of decades...

UPDATE: it might well be pointed out that the various militias in these countries are also responsible for a similar (or even greater) level of systematic child abuse. This, however, simply makes the UN's practice even worse.

Can you imagine being an 8 year old girl who has been systematically gang-raped by various marauding bands of soldiers and you are finally delivered into the care of the UN. Imagine, then, the despair of such a girl when she finds that—instead of being rescued and cared for, instead of being delivered from evil—she has merely been handed on to another pimp and rapist, a demon with a blue helmet rather than a bandana.

The behaviour of such UN staff is absolutely beyond the fucking pale and there really are no punishments or tortures bad enough for them. Well, actually, there are but apparently they are banned under the Geneva Convention...

No disagreement about the unpleasantness at and of the UN, but wasn't it Oliver Twist that requested more gruel?

Leaving the UN is in my manifesto, right next to leaving the EU.
