Reactionary Snob has a quick look at the Liberal Democrats Scottish Manifesto [PDF] and points out that the incompetent bastards contradict themselves within 4 pages. Nice.

Oh, and here's one of their pledges.
—build wave machines to generate electricity by the end of the year

That's already happened, you fuckwits*, under the auspices of a private company: WaveGen. The Islay generator has been delivering power to the grid since 2000 and the Faroes generator is in development.

Obviously the LibDems are as informed as Batshit.

* It may be that they do know this and that they mean they want to build more wave machines but a) I doubt it and b) I couldn't give a shit.

But DK, you miss the whole point: those generators are privately operated. Just like their Labour bedfellows, the LimpDems could never acknowledge that the private sector could or should be playing a role in something like power generation. So they ignore it, hoping, perhaps, that it will simply fade away.

Doubtless they will apply the same philosophy should they ever gain power. They'll build a substandard copy of the WaveGen plants and then claim the credit for building the "first and only" example.

Socialists and crypto-socialists have been lying (to themselves as much as everybody else) from the day they started. Why should they change now?

Oh yeah? So what has happened for the last ten years, exactly?

Over at the ASI, they are posting some of the winning entries of the Young Writers on Liberty. One does not want to put such keen minds off,...
