Friday Cities: London

Your humble Devil apologises for the lack of posting: not only has your humble Devil been busy with some hideous deadlines, he has also discovered a new networking site and he has been investigating it for a few days.

Upon the demise of The Friday Thing, your humble Devil decided to join up to the group's new project, Friday Cities: London. I then sat and did nothing with my profile for some time, until I received an email pointing out that there was a meet-up piss-up that night (and organised, not by the Friday group themselves, but by one of the members).

It's not something that I would have necessarily worried about but for the lack of anything better to do on a Thursday night; besides, I am always happy to find any excuse for a piss-up and meet people and this seemed as good a time as any.

In any case, your humble Devil arrived at the back of 8—weilding his picture of a fucktrumpet (don't ask)—and, though experiencing mild trepidation, threw himself into the whole thing with abandoned glee. Great fun it was too.

Anyway, I digress; if you are living in London, I heartily recommend Friday Cities: London as a networking site. It seems mainly to be populated by professionals—including a disproportionate number of freelancers, writers and designers—and is a great resource site. Go online and share your London knowledge, or benefit from the knowledge of others; give and receive Kudos for amusing posts and wonderful suggestions; even find work (your humble Devil has already done so).

In short, go sign up: it could be a lot of fun, I think; and it certainly beats fucking MySpace or FaceBook mainly because it is populated by people born before 1985.

You'll need an invite code to join: use jfvbj634q8l8 and get me Kudos. But only if you're actually going to use the site, obviously...

DK, your profile includes the "single" label...Is this you just playing the field (looking for a reserve), or does it represent a genuine, ahem, change of status....?

Genuine, I'm afraid...

Sorry to hear that.

Still, getting that "trumpet" out one night and suggesting that you both play around with it couldn't have helped matters...(or wasn't I supposed to know that?!!)

By the way, what's the progress with the NEC elections? When will you be making the gracious acceptance speech?

Devil's Kitchen said...

For various reasons the NEC elections have been delayed until May, I can't remember exactly when.

Hello DK,
Thanks for Prescott shagging kudos. Almost, but not quite as disturbing as the fucktrumpet?
Royal mammaries available as of this evening.

Oh yeah? So what has happened for the last ten years, exactly?

Over at the ASI, they are posting some of the winning entries of the Young Writers on Liberty. One does not want to put such keen minds off,...
