A correspondant has emailed me to inform me that Free The Navy 15!, who organised a protest outside the Iranian Embassy on Sunday (see picture 10), are getting together for another one.
Our next protest will be: 6.45pm, Wednesday 4th April

Location: opposite the Iranian Embassy, 16, Prince's Gate, South Kensington, SW7 1PT
Map here
Nearest Tube Stations: Knightsbridge or South Kensington

All welcome, please invite as many friends, workmates and family along as possible. We'll be informing the media, too.

I might even stir myself from my Hellish Abode...

7.23pm, 5th May 1980, Princes Gate, London. The SAS stormed the Iranian Embassy to free 19 surviving hostages.

Fast-forward to 2nd April 2007. The SAS could be forgiven for storming it again, this time to take some hostages in retaliation for the 15 sailors kidnapped off the coast of Iraq.

Hoping they will be free by then, a little more in hope than expectation maybe...

The SAS might be forgiven by you but storming an embassy would set a bad precedent. Like .. um .. when Iranian students stormed our embassy in 1979.

On the other hand there isn't a whole lot y'all can do - and I say this as a guy who likes the UK a great deal, thanks you for being a staunch ally, and hopes that we're steadfast to you in return - because frankly you guys have fuck all for force projection and logistics.

Again, I'm on your side. But Jesus McFuck people, the Falklands War stretched your Navy and Army to the limit .. and you've lost a lot of capacity you had then.

Storming their embassy in London and protesting might be all you can do.

Okay, yes, a raid is not out of the question .. but man I hope SAS is up to the task. And you might need allied support for the raiding force to get to the target.

Iran commits an act of war against us and we allow freedom of the skies - and Heathrow - to Iran's flag-carrying airline. Can you wonder why these people have contempt for us

Usually, the flag waving nutters outside embassies in South Kensington are Muslim. This'll be a nice reversal of stereotype.

Anyone up for dressing as a Crusader? ;-)

'I hope SAS is up to the task. And you might need allied support for the raiding force to get to the target'.

Of course they would be, ask Rumsfeld, he's leaned on them enough.

'Again, I'm on your side'

Just about. Here's hoping the support out of the US is better than your jesus mcfucking support over the Falklands since you Americans love to keep bringing that up on this one - back then you only just about round. (I think even the French were useful then). Send our regards to Pelosi.

Yep, get off the butt, DK and get over there.

Oh yeah? So what has happened for the last ten years, exactly?

Over at the ASI, they are posting some of the winning entries of the Young Writers on Liberty. One does not want to put such keen minds off,...
