MRSA in the Western Isles

A hospital in Stornoway has racked up as many cases of MRSA in the first quarter of this year as for each of the three previous years.
A leaked report shows the number of MRSA cases at Western Isles Hospital have soared.

The report reveals that figures for the first three months of this year nearly matched those for the whole of 2005.

Health board spokesman Dr John Smith said there was a link between the rise and growing numbers of people attending the hospital.

So, are they telling us that there are four times the number of patients passing through the hospital this year than last? Forget about the MRSA, lets' concentrate on what the hell is making the people of the Western Isles so ill...
