The Unseen Video

This is unbelievably cool: The Unseen Video.

The video is partially dynamic; based on your IP address, it gathers data from your nearest weather station and the video unfolds accordingly, the look of the piece taking its feel from the weather outside your window.

Since it is dynamic, the video is never quite the same twice, and they even have a Flikr gallery of screenshots that people have uploaded.

Warning: a certain amount of processing power is needed.

Cool indeed. But first - I apologise for the comments that led you to ban me. Drink related abuse and all that. Plus I hate james. However my point in posting now is ...why does my name come up as John by default? And why does my IP address seem to indicate I'm in Bristol? Until I tried this link I wondered why you wanted me to jump off the Clifton Suspension Bridge which, nice though it is, is a great deal further away than the Forth bridge. Or Tay or Erskine. But sure enough this link suggests my nearest weather station is Bristol.

Anon,

I have no idea. Your profile does say that your ISP is Telewest, Edinburgh (and it says that you are using Safari on Mac OS X), but it also - equally - clearly states that you are in Bristol, England. There must be some kind of error in the IP database.

As for the drunken comments, don't worry about it. I am absolutely exhausted at present and thus not my usual tolerant self... ;-)

Cheers, must visit Bristol sometime, used to live in the Cotswolds and it's a nice part of the world. Will try and contain the abuse - though I still think if you dish it out you should take it.......!! Don't work too hard

Are you using the same computer that you used to use in Cotswolds, at all? Oh, and my paternal grandparents used to live deep in wildest Gloucestershire, so I know parts of the area.

Yeah, I can usually take the abuse, but you just hit a nerve. Having become single again relatively recently, after two and a half years, it still rankles. Mind you, thinking about the post that comment was on, that was probably your point, wasn't it?

Plus, yes, I think James have written a number of very good songs. Not complicated or worthy, but good nonetheless. Here's another which is apt at present:

More than a drug is what I need
Need a change of scenery
Need a new life

Not sure I had a point really! But lived in E'burgh for 15 years. Wotton under edge and the environs still have fond memories though. Has peace broken out?

Wotton-Under-Edge was precisely where my grandparents lived, in fact. I used to climb the hills and collect fossils. My aunt used to live in Coombe and now lives near Malmesbury.

As for peace, well, I see little point in keeping feuds going for the sake of it. Well, not until I've single-handedly wiped out this government, anyway...

Thank goodness for that - I did my fossil hunting in Dorset. Peace is one thing - childhood bonding is a step too far!
