More EU budget wank

More on that super budget deal that nice Mr Blair has secured for us.
Mr Blair insists the deal will enhance Britain's reputation in Europe and that failing to get it would have caused "immense damage" to the UK's national interest.
...

BBC Europe correspondent Tim Franks said the rebate would continue to rise "for a time" because Britain's overall contributions were rising.

They will increase by 63% to £42bn, while French contributions will rise by 116% and those of Italy by 130%.

Britain is giving up about 20% of the rebate it would have otherwise received over the seven years.

Brilliant, cheers, Tony. An increase in our contributions of 63%—yes, that's sixty-three percent, ladies and gentlemen, on economic growth of 1.7% this year—plus a reduction in the rebate of 20%: a real fucking triumph. Well done, you fucking retard.

Let's assume that Gordon is somewhere close to being right—some fucking chance—and say that our economy grows by 2.5% over the next 8 years; by my calculations, that'll be total economic growth of 20% over the next 8 years. So, Tony has increased our contributions by more than three times the growth that we can optimistically expect over the same period. Andwe are meant to consider this a triumph? This is our national interest not being damaged? Well, all I can say is, thank fuck that Tony didn't try to damage our national interest or we'd have been really screwed over.

Tony Blair: mendacious wanker or incompetent shit-for-brains? You decide...

UPDATE: EU Referendum has more on the precise deal that has been done. They don't, unfortunately, speculate an answer to the above question though.
