By lack of reception I mean no reception due to defective handsets.

Phone started fine but after half a day the reception strength dropped to zero meanwhile a trusty nokia on same network (T-Mobile) still picking up full strength signal, tried calling the iphone 'number is currently not available' tried calling out 'series of beeps' returned and replaced I'd have put it down to a one of but 2 friends had exact same problem with subsequent 4 and 4S models, meanwhile apple deny there is such a fault.
