Snake oil salesman

I have to disagree with Seth Friedman here...
If Obama & Co really want to do the best by both their electorate and the environment, they could do worse than permanently nationalise oil companies as a way of enacting serious positive change in the industry.

Yes, they probably could do worse—I'm just struggling to think how.

I mean, one of the surest ways to bugger up a company is to put it in the hands of politicians.

For a more indepth—and less flippant—analysis of this article, do wander over to Timmy's...

Barack Obama, the answer to that eternal question - could there be a worse president than Jimmy Carter?

Wasn't the drilling operator Halliburton? Aren't they something very close to the Bush's? Don't they get lots of US gov't contracts on the nod? So, quite how will nationalising them more make things better?

Effing socialists. Thick as pig shit on just about everything. I will maintain to my dying day that socialists and muslims have some kind of common genetic defect that causes them to say, do and believe what they do. The best we can hope for is that sometime in the near future, a prerequisite for any funding to either socialist countries or to muslim countries is that they convert to Christianity. Otherwise, they can starve to death as far as I am concerned. Apologies, the latter part of this is quite off topic.

If the American government would nationalize the oil companies, they would be as efficient and well run as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, USPS and GM, so I say, waste no time nationalizing the oil companies and fucking up the rest of the economy. Let's hear it for socialism!
