Hannan rips Brown a new arsehole

Posted by Devil's Kitchen at 3/24/2009 08:55:00 PM

As you will know, your humble Devil has a great deal of time for only a very few politicians; one of those is Douglas Carswell MP, and another is his friend, Daniel Hannan MEP.

Douglas has featured on The Kitchen many a time, and Dan... Well, just watch Master Hannan ripping the one-eyed, Scots cunt to pieces in the European Parliament and you will see why he's such good value (a tip of the horns to Guido for this)...

Might I also recommend The Plan: twelve months to renew Britain, by Hannan and Carswell, a rather well-researched book detailing how to cut the state down to size, and return power to the people through localism.

It's a very good book and your humble Devil is secretly rather proud to have his copy signed by the authors and inscribed with laudatory messages of solidarity.

Yes, I am a vain man, and flattery will get you everywhere. Or, rather, it may get you a mention on The Kitchen if you are a very good boy.

Now, I'm just going to click that button and watch Hannan rip the crap out of Brown again...

UPDATE: it seems that the fat-arsed, monocular Jock bastard just isn't very popular; via Trixy, Nigel Farage (another politician that I have time for) laid into the Prime Mentalist first...

I wonder if Gordon realises that people are more than a little fed up by his stupidity, arrogance and incompetence? Probably not so, for the avoidance of doubt, fuck you, Brown, you stupid, arrogant, incompetent cock.

UPDATE 2: Douglas Carswell explains why this couldn't happen in our Parliament.
In Westminster we’re prevented from making the kind of short, pithy speeches that hold squirming ministers directly to account by something called "tradition". Procedures for debates in SW1 make it very difficult to actually say what needs to be said. The closest you can get is a question. If you're lucky.

Indeed, most debates are reduced to bogus, formulaic ritual. The order of speaking often irons out spontaneity. Cabinet ministers invariably clear off to the tea rooms rather than listen to what anyone might want to say.

Other than the weekly Prime Ministers Questions, I'm trying to think when I've ever seen a Prime Minister speaking in the Commons in a way that would allow anyone to hold him to task the way Daniel did.

Like I've been saying, our Commons is monumentally useless at holding government to account.

This irritating politeness is one tradition that I would be happy to see abandoned. I think that, if politicians really loathed each other, in the way that people who genuinely lose their tempers at each other tend to, then we would see more interesting debates.

Oh, and Her Majesty's Opposition might actually oppose, rather than politely disagreeing over the Dispatch Box and then wandering off together for a beer in the taxpayer-subsidised bar.

It's a shame, of course, that Dan's opinions are not held by the Tory leadership.

Just as it's a shame he wasn't allowed to stand for leader.

If Brown were a Jew, would you call him a yid? Would you call him a kike? Would you bring up his Jewishness at ever turn and launch into rages about the perfidy of the Hebrew race?

Devil's Kitchen is a fine blog and well worth reading. Roderick Spode, however, is not a fine blogger.

Let's play "spot the current meme doing the rounds amongst commenters this week" (clue: it's to do with a P.G. Wodehouse character that everyone has just discovered, a mere 71 years after he first featured).

Oh, and in answer to your question: yes, I probably would. Apart from commenting on the perfidy of the Hebrew race.

I comment on the hostility and (what some would call) racism of the Scots because I have endured it at first hand; I don't believe that I have been threatened for being a "fucking Gentile cunt" by any Jewish gentlemen.

Besides, had Gordo been a bit more Jewish, perhaps this country's government wouldn't be up to its eye-balls in debt...

I can't normally watch politicians; the party line, point-scoring soundbites make my teeth itch.
But this is rousing stuff. I've watched both them several times and it never gets old.

More of this, and soon, but tonight I am content.

Answer given: Red Leicester.

Lol at the anonymous fool who seems to equate anti-Hibernianism with antisemitism.

Having spent my formative years in a school that was about 20% Jewish, I can attest to the perfidy of the Hebrews - I make no apology for being unremittingly and consistently antisemitic. That's why I don't like Dougie Carswell - he's soft on Israel, soft on the causes of Israel. I reserve judgement on Dan Hannan - but if I see him sucking up to the Yids, then I'll change my mind on him too.

I don't know that many Scots, but the preponderance of Hibernian Hoons in the government that has put our children (and grandchildren, even unto the tenth generation perhaps?) into perpetual debt does not lead me to be well disposed to North Britons.

What is Hannan doing in the European Parliament? He is wasted there, it has no power whatsoever.

He should be in the Commons, and a front bench spokesman. Of course, his views don't match the vapid fluffy liberalism of Cameron, so that's unlikely.

Hannan for President (...of the EU!)!

I was gunna say Britain, but fuck it, let's shit in their mother's knicker draw, and let 'em know there ain't gunna be no third time lucky for any of these 19th century euro-turkeys.

I can tolerate Farage, as a subservient cheerleader for future PM Hannan; other than that he is yet another stereotype-satiating dolt.

The truth is, we need a legion of Hannans to hack into the blubber of the IngSoc regime and all it's works, and see a rebirth of Britain as a sort of mixture between South Korea, Japan, Norway and Switzerland (all the best bits of course!).

I think there must be some reason why Hannan is not on the Tory front bench - either there are cliques within who fear his potential; or, Hannan himself, wants to hold back and time it right by building the right momentum and a gang behind him... even the best need backup to take on a mob of inadequates.

He appears to be enjoying himself thoroughly on Glenn Beck's program. He should do well with the American libertarian movement.

For some reason the editing team for "This Week" decided that a reaction shot from the PM to what Daniel Hannan was saying in his speech, needed to be repositioned. They edited a piece of video anyone can see on YouTube! It was played as one contiguous piece, and you can see the time bar jolt around as the misplaced piece is slotted in.

I suppose they've made the PM's chortling look more appropriate.

You can see it here:
