Random facts

I attended a meeting of The Next Generation at the Adam Smith Institute last night, which was entertaining. Who would have thought it?—apparently there is such a thing as the Liberal Catholic Church which appears to be a kind of laissez-faire Catholicism.

More importantly I learned that one of the ASI directors, like myself, is a big fan of snuff and that the other director, again like me, never gets hangovers. We concluded that this latter point can be something of a mixed blessing since there is no short-term incentive to moderate one's drinking.

This last point was amply demonstrated last night on my way home when I suddenly "came to" walking somewhere in Tooting Broadway, some way south of where I actually wanted to be. I blame the couple of glasses of red wine that I drank after I had drunk all of the white ran out...

Of course, snuff is actually banned in the EU. Cunts.

Good to see that its and sale use has gone virtually unnoticed... or at least, had a blind eye turned to it.

Funny how, when sales of the moist stuff from the US started to increase, the EU managed to find a 'link' between it and cancer. Fuckers.

Maybe the red wine was subconciously leading you towards a good curry?

I have never agreed with an anonymous comment before. But I totally, utterly and completely concur with anonymous – except that I would like to say that, if, genuinely, you never get hangovers, you are not merely a complete and utter bastard but a vast steaming turd to boot. And a cunt.

Incidentally, DK, it is claimed that Richard Burton, he of the two bottles of vodkas a day, never had a hangover until he was about 45. At which point he fell apart.

So, watch out!

My friends are of the opinion that this is precisely what will happen to me...

You're not alone DK, I don't get hangovers (or indeed headaches) either. I did read that this was true for about 13% of the population. Lucky. :-)

Most headaches are caused by dehydration, so if you drink plenty of fluid (I drink tea by the gallon) then you might find this is a factor.
