Those whom the gods would destroy...

... they first make mad. If this is, indeed, true then we must be doomed, for everyone in the political establishment seems to have already gone insane.

Via Philip Stott, I see that the stupidity of the Nobel Prize Committee seems to know no bounds. [Emphasis in original post.]
Have you read the final paragraph of the Norwegian Nobel Committee’s announcement on the award of the Nobel Peace Prize (see also: An IgNobel Prize, October 13) to Our Albert Arnold (Al) Gore? It is hubristic nonsense:
"By awarding the Nobel Peace Prize for 2007 to the IPCC and Al Gore, the Norwegian Nobel Committee is seeking to contribute to a sharper focus on the processes and decisions that appear to be necessary to protect the world’s future climate, and thereby to reduce the threat to the security of mankind. Action is necessary now, before climate change moves beyond man’s control."

What the living fuck are they talking about? Since when has the global fucking climate ever been within human control?

The Earth is a massive body, with a radius of some 6,400km, plus an atmosphere of another 8.5km: the idea that we humans, powerful as we are within our own little sphere, have anything but the most marginal effect on our local atmosphere is the height of arrogance and hubris.

Have these people lost their fucking minds?

UPDATE: it has been drawn to my attention, not least by Dizzy's solutions for a better environment, that today is another one of the EU's attempts to control the blogging agenda via Blog Action Day. Anything that I write about the environment is nothing to do with this BAD crap; personally, my feelings are precisely the same as that twat Twenty's.
Finally, the most important thing of all, stick your Blog Action Day up your holes, you cunts.

You're assuming a lot aren't you?

Personally, I always thought they had peas.
