Swing your HIPs, loose your head and let it spin...

Since Ruth Kelly's humiliating and hilarious climb-down, the issue of the Home Information Packs (HIPs) seems to have been obscured by such wonderful, Messianic events as the Gobblin' King's coronation. However, the fuckers haven't buggered off, mainly because our government doesn't have the power to abolish them.
Take for example the [BBC] news reports on the introduction of Home Information Packs.

Nowhere in that news report will you find any reference to the European Union. HIPs are being introduced mainly to comply with an 2002 EU directive which requires all homes to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). The directive in question is the EU Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings.

Open Europe has a press release on this warning about the consequences on the housing market (i.e. it'll drive prices even further skywards...)

Indeed. And young Timmy reminds us of a slight flaw in the whole system.
Homeowners who dispute key details entered by officials in their Home Information Pack (Hips) face a near-impossible task to set the record straight, it can be revealed.

The Department for Communities and Local Government, which is in charge of Hips, has been forced to admit that the national database responsible for Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), as part of the scheme, cannot be altered once a property's information - no matter how accurate - has been entered.

You can see their problem, of course. It simply doesn't conform to their world view, would cause heads to explode. "Man With Clipboard Wrong?" No, clearly, as this could never happen there doesn't need to be any system to remedy the effects of something that could never possibly happen.

This attitude is, of course, even more prevalent in the EU which, as we have seen, is the organisation actually behind this law. Presumably it is part of the EU's mission to save the world, as articulated by that utter cunt, TEBAF Margot.

This devious little shitehawk has been banging on in her ill-informed way about climate change for ages—so much so that one wonders if she and Batshit are wooing one another (can you imagine the two of them writhing around, Batshit's glasses smeared with Margot's vaginal excretions as he forces his rolled tongue up her rectum whilst she sucks hard on his stubby, wrinkly, little cock as she uses her finger to tickle his prostate?).
It is frustrating that so many people still either deny that climate change is happening or that we can do anything about it. (Also frustrating that some people still regard climate change as some kind of conspiracy theory or a quasi religious belief). The scientists are unanimous: It is happening.

Unanimous, are they? What, every single scientist in the world subscribes to the anthropogenic climate change theory, do they? I don't think so, love.

You are a pig-ignorant waste of space, Margot; you are so stupid, corrupt and useless that even a bunch of politicians didn't want to associate with you and so sent you to the EU. Twice. So, please, do us all a favour and shut the fuck up, and then go and hang yourself.

HIPs was originally trialled in Bristol. At the time, these seemed like a good idea as it would avoid buyers having to buy several surveys prior to making a final purchase.

However, as soon as it became apparent that the buyer's lenders would not accept the vendor's survey the whole idea was dead in the water. Strangely, it was at that point that NuLab cottoned onto the idea.

Complete and utter bollocks DK - down to your usual standard of reporting. Just like the MSM you cherry-pick quotes, right or wrong, to justify your ludicrously biased aagenda.

If there is error in an EPC, it can simply be recalculated with the corrected data. The most recent EPC would be the valid one. Just like when a property is re-marketed a new EPC may be produced.

Seems the database the government use for holding the Energy Performance Certificate data, is somewhat b0rked too.

Go figure.

Vervet,

It seems to have escaped your notice that I am not a reporter, but a commenter. The piece that you have quoted there is, in fact, from the MSM.

If you have a problem with what I have quoted, then I heartily suggest that you take your snippy attitude to the Telegraph Complaints Department.

This makes Yvette Copperballs a running dog for the EU Politburo.

p.s. vervet, still does not handle the two issues: 1, why its EU origins are being hidden (again). 2. why is it not voluntary so the market can decide? It is all eco-fascism.

It was voluntary originally and the market did decide - it decided that the whole thing is bollocks.

Indeed.

Roger's Maxim states that "if something is voluntary it would either work if it is good, evolve if it could or fail as it should".
