Prescott has pneumonia: world fails to give a shit

Apparently, our favourite talentless deluded fuckwit is a bit peaky.
Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott is suffering from pneumonia, his office has confirmed.

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving nicer fellow, I'm sure you'll agree.
The 69-year-old has been moved to a high-dependency unit, but a spokesman stressed that this was not because his condition had deteriorated.

Pity.
During his 10 years as Mr Blair's deputy, Mr Prescott has been generally in good health.

One might be tempted to use the phrase "in rude health". What a pity that there is no really suitable idiom to pun with: something like "in fucking stupid health, the freeloading cunt" would be choice.

There are times when I feel that our language, wonderfully flexible as it is, simply cannot convey some things pithily enough...

I hope he gets MRSA.

Perhaps it was the stress of his luxury holiday at the tax payer's expense which made him ill?

If so, I don't mind digging into my pocket for him to have another jaunt...

It's is a shame to see this post and the first comment to it. It diminishes the people who wrote them.
I think it shows the difference between the medical bloggers and the political ones.
While I look forward to Prescott and the rest of the freeloading bunch of hypocrites getting thrown out of office and even thrown into jail eventually I cannot rejoice that he is ill-getting ill is not a lifestyle choice and he cannot be blamed or punished for this. In someone of his age he might well die from pneumonia and no civilized person should take pleasure in someones suffering and death.
I wish him good health so that he can continue to be the butt of jokes and possibly answer for some of the liberties he has taken with taxpayers money.

"no civilized person should take pleasure in someones suffering and death"

While I don't think Prescott is in the same category, I'd take great pleasure in the suffering and death of people like Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao, Idi Amin, Mugabe... etc, etc, etc. They deserve(d) nothing better, and no civilized person should mourn them.

As with the earlier poster, I can't help but wonder whether the time Prescott has just spent abroad at our expense might have contributed to his ill-health.

Dr Ray,

I knew someone would say something like that. I'm sorry, but many of those who have suffered under Prescott and his ilk had no more control over his predations that he has over his health.

You will note that Hitler, Fred West and Shipman actually took their own lives and the people who suffered under them felt cheated, so death does not restore the balance. Apart from this it should be our respect for life that distinguishes the good people from the evil ones. This is why it was so stupid to hang Saddam for his lack of respect for human life.
I am an Atheist but I believe in the sanctity of life and when we cross this line it allows people like Hitler (and Bush/Blair?) to prosper.

Devil's Kitchen said...

True, but I never advocated killing him. Merely that I hope that he suffers. I think it only fitting really.

Sanctity of life? No, I don't think I'm with you on that one.

But I'm a libertarian and thus deplore the initiation of force. However, now that he has pneumonia, I can't see that I'm doing any harm by hoping it's fucking horrible.

After all, my wish is going to have absolutely stuff-all real physical effect on the course of his disease.

Unless, of course, you believe in magic?

Yes, but speaking as one of the taxpayers who would otherwise have had to keep them in comfort for the rest of their lives, I was quite happy to see them go.

Dr Ray,

I am sure the construction and housebuilding industry bloggers are also feeling sympathetic.

Looks like I might be alone on this one but I fail to see how the world will be a better place if a 69 year old man suffers a painful, lingering death. It just shows what a superficial veneer civilization really is. Berlin was the most civilized city in Europe in the 1930s.

Well ... if this useless fat tosser died, and we took all the money he would otherwise have wasted during the rest of his life, I'm sure it would pay for four or five more hospital managers...

Trixy said...

Dr Ray,

You may notice that I didn't say I wanted him to die, I just wanted him to suffer. I want him to suffer from a bug caught in an NHS hospital like other people who pay for his fat, lazy arse have suffered.

He is not a human being, he is a hideous monstrosity and I do wish him ill.

Mr Prescott has been moved to a high-dependency unit, which in a way is only his natural habitat as he hasn't earned a bean since getting of the boats when he was last engaged in socially useful and economically productive work.

Can't help comparing this to my Uncle J, who died on a general ward after contracting the same condition (IOW), or aunty P whose family brought her home to die after the squalid conditions in Hornchurch left her stranded on a commode in the cold and semi-naked, whilst a deeply confused and elderly gentleman exposed himself to her, or my friend S. who just discharged herself from Addenbrookes 48 hours after emergency abdominal surgery. She took the view that being stranded naked with an undressed massive wound for 45 minutes in an MRSA rich environment was probably more dangerous than anything she faced at home. Besides, at home there was a fair chance that someone would come if she called, which is more than can be said for many of our hospitals.

So I'm very sorry that John P has gone in to hospital. He should be left to sit it out at home and hope he survives, just as he and his chums have obliged the rest of us to do, whilst taxing and spending to no bloody good effect. No, I don't see why the world would be improved for the lingering death of an elderly man. But I think that one of the ways to improve the lot of elderly men is to make sure that their political masters are subjected to exactly the same medical regime that the rest of us are, instead of the string-pulling and special treatment the fat bastard is likely to get.

Why doesn't Patsy go round and lecture him about his weight and drinking if it is such sure-fire way to improve matters?

I would normally say "What Roger Thornhill says", only I'm not sure which way he's leaning, so instead I will say "What Trixy says, with f***ing knobs on"

Roger Thornhill said...

mark - I am leaning in a sarcastic way.

It is not necessary for Prezza to actually die a painful, infected death, just that he knows he will be exposed to the same risk of one.

While he benefits from his hypocracy, he should not be shielded from taunts.

Mark Wadsworth said...

Glad to hear it Rog!

Icing on the cake would be, that protestor whom Prescott punched sneaks into the hospital (preferably disguised as a female nurse in true "Carry On" fashion) and smacks him one while his defences are down ...

Guido Faux said...

I'm inclined to get all Utilitarian on this. If fatboy does suffer and get MRSA then maybe something will actually be done about it.

Umbongo said...

Whatever happens, if and when Prescott is discharged from the HDU, I bet he won't be transferred onto a general ward. I can hear the excuses now eg being deputy PM he will be receiving confidential documents and a "normal" ward could be a security risk etc etc.

OTOH, he (but not the female patients) might get lucky and be transferred to a "mixed sex" ward.

Oh its a HIGH dependency unit, I thought they said a PIE dependency unit!

Well what a great week for funny tales, the fiasco over the olympic logo(very funny) and now 2 inches Prescott(if The Sun is to be believed) suffering in hospital.

Lets all hope he shuffles, or rather waddles off to that great cruise ship in the sky, where he can serve drinks to Robin Cook/John Smith etc.

His removal from the world of politics will improve it vastly and save the tax payer a few quid.

Patsy Hewitt thought she had saved her job by massaging the figures to show the NHS in surplus ...... not so safe now ..... there's no way they'll be able to hide the excess expenditure on catering for the 'Chipolata Cowboy'.

I would argue that there are more deserving/nicer recipients of a painful bout of suffering - Tony Blair and Gordon Brown spring to mind. Prescott is like a spot on the face of Britain - he is unsightly, but, hey, he is ultimately harmless. Blair and Brown are more deserving because they are the cancerous mole on the face of Britain. They have the power to hurt, and to kill our country.

In fact, pretty much the whole of the Nu Labour Cabinet are welcome to a painful bout in an ICU somewhere...

Fidothedog said...

Nameless one, I agree that they should all die in nasty and in as much fucking pain as can be imagined.

Worst of all has to be that utter cuntbubble David "Am I the daddy?" Blunkett, hell the man should be boiled alive for his many sins, just the way his dad died.

Prescot is getting better now, which personally I welcome, and according to the Biased Broadcasting Corporation he is well enough to joke with his doctors. Perhaps by saying something like as Deputy Prime Minister he had an important job that he had to get back to.
