Boris Yeltsin is dead.
Former Russian President Boris Yeltsin has died, the Kremlin says.

Mr Yeltsin was 76. The cause of death has not yet been announced.

The drunken old Communist bastard gave the world the oligarchs.

He was a drunken old Communist bastard when he was living, and remains a drunken old Communist bastard now he's dead.

Yelstin was many things but not a 'Communist' bastard. He opposed Gorbachev's view that communism could be reformed. It had to be killed outright. This he did - crudely.Sadly he was an alcoholic according to one of his translators, a friend of mine. Thus the robber barons pulled the wool over his eyes. 100 years time Yeltsin will be better regarded than he is today.

With Yeltsin's obituary filling the airwaves, is it unduly cynical to enquire whether the gvt has released any bad news in the last 24 hours ?
