More benefits of immigration

Now as we all know, Sweden is perfect; it is the utopia that all liberal socialists lust after: in fact, Scandanavia as a whole is actually some kind of paradise. Or is it?
The number of rape charges in Sweden has tripled in just above twenty years. Rape cases involving children under the age of 15 are six - 6 - times as common today as they were a generation ago. Most other kinds of violent crime have rapidly increased, too. Instability is spreading to most urban and suburban areas.

According to a new study from the Crime Prevention Council, Brå, it is four times more likely that a known rapist is born abroad, compared to persons born in Sweden. Resident aliens from Algeria, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia dominate the group of rape suspects. According to these statistics, almost half of all perpetrators are immigrants. In Norway and Denmark, we know that non-Western immigrants, which frequently means Muslims, are grossly overrepresented on rape statistics. In Oslo, Norway, immigrants were involved in two out of three rape charges in 2001. The numbers in Denmark were the same, and even higher in the city of Copenhagen with three out of four rape charges. Sweden has a larger immigrant, including Muslim, population than any other country in northern Europe. The numbers there are likely to be at least as bad as with its Scandinavian neighbors. The actual number is thus probably even higher than what the authorities are reporting now, as it doesn't include second generation immigrants. Lawyer Ann Christine Hjelm, who has investigated violent crimes in Svea high court, found that 85 per cent of the convicted rapists were born on foreign soil or by foreign parents.

Welcome to the bright new world of tolerance and joy. I think that Dennis has summed it up pretty well.
Second, the whole issue of honor killings in Britain again. Or if you like, throw in Europe too. What are these people doing there? I ask for the umpteenth time. Muslims are not compatible with Western democracy with their primitive, misogynist, and repulsive views.

Call me paranoid if you like, but I seriously do think that there is a major war coming; amongst others, we will be fighting the enemy within, in the form both of Muslim immigrants and of our own liberal guilt...

They have their pensions to think about remember, which are paid for by current Workers. But the number of current Workers is set to shrink as unfortunately us the western breed simply don't reproduce fast enough to satisfy for the masters. This might be because being taxed so hard we workers have do not have the time of money to produce enough new Workers. However reduction in taxes unthinkable, hence the need to import fresh, faster breeding, stock form outside.

Hang on, Sweden is bad /because Swedish born people are less likely to commit crime than people from elsewhere/?

You can take that data to show any number of things, including, for example, that people who immigrate tend to do so because they're struggling to fit in with society (and thus are often outcasts/criminals); that Sweden has a very sound system of government that prevents most of its citizens /who have had the benefit of growing up there/ from turning to crime; that Sweden is much like Holland in that it hasn't done enough to intergrate immigrants into their culture; to, yes, that immigrants are all shits and that there's something particuarly bad about Muslims. But you haven't shown the last over the rest unless you can provide more data.

I'd be genuinely interested to know what this data does show, but you've merely provided a bit of speculation based on your own political predjudices.

No, Alex; immigrants are more likely to commit certain crimes than the indigenous population.

What I suggest that you do, is to read the original post - this is why I linked to it - which has considerably more links than I could be bothered to copy.

In the name of all that is unholy, this is becoming a worldwide trend. Take your face out of your philosophy books and try to make some connections, OK? This irrational denial is starting to become something of a bore.

The original post adds no more than you already have.

I'm not denying anything; I don't know enough about the topic to demonstrate any firm conclusions. But thats precisely why I'm concerned about all this bandwagon jumping (on both sides) based on very little evidence.

You, on the other hand, are "making connections" by selectively quoting, finding, and interpreting everything you find to be in favour of your preconceptions on the subject. Next a study will turn up saying that the British are more likely to rape than Muslims, and you'll be telling us all that its yet more proof that Muslims are inferior because they can't even do that well.

Still, I started reading you because I thought you had some ability to intelligently defend free-markets. Since you don't seem to be able to intelligently do anything, its time I found another libertarian who might have something more interesting (i.e. logical and/or factual) to say.

The thing is that six months ago I had no preconceptions on this subject at all. The stuff that I have found (and you could - of course - say that my filtration process is flawed, as well it might be) has brought me to the occasionally dogmatic approach that you currently see. I am seriously worried, and please note that this is not a skin colour thing: it is, however, a cultural thing. And I am afraid that I will be proven to be as right as I was about Iran's involvement in Iraq (postulated here back in January). I am becoming, as I said, more and more worried about the Islam situation and, naturally, what I write is starting to reflect that to a greater degree.

Next a study will turn up saying that the British are more likely to rape than Muslims, and you'll be telling us all that its yet more proof that Muslims are inferior because they can't even do that well.

You see, it's silly comments like that which are just going to make you unpopular (it's also a pretty typical philo-stud argument technique).

Still, I started reading you because I thought you had some ability to intelligently defend free-markets. Since you don't seem to be able to intelligently do anything, its time I found another libertarian who might have something more interesting (i.e. logical and/or factual) to say.

(Oh! A spllit infinitive! What would the P-G say?) Fair enough, Alex, that's your perogative. I don't think that I have ever claimed that this blog was here to defend, intelligently or otherwise, free markets; nor do I think that I have ever claimed to write impartially. They work (with certain reservations) so there is no need for me to defend them. If you are looking for someone to explain properly, and far more articulately, why they work, then I suggest that you read Worstall.

Alex, you are spot on. Even for DK, this post is despicable.

DK, If you truly believe that Muslims are more likely to be rapists and criminals in general, you had better come up with a explanation as to why that is.

In your warped mind, what makes a Muslim more likely to be a criminal?

The problem is you haven't got a serious answer to that, have you?

In fact you know it is prejudiced rubbish. Stop stirring up trouble with your ill founded ramblings and get back to arguing for tax cuts, I prefer that rubbish to this dangerous anti-immigrant stuff.

It's people like you spreading this filth that cause race riots.

Bloody hell, Neil; what I think is irrelevent. Why do you insist on ignoring the evidence? As Alex pointed out, it might be that immigrants are more likely to be criminals and the fact that they are Muslim is entirely irrelevent too. Unfortunately, I don't think that this is the case.

In your warped mind, what makes a Muslim more likely to be a criminal?

The culture in which they are raised, Neil. If, for instance, you are raised in a culture that perpetually views women as second-class citizens, at best, then your view of rape will be substantially different to that of a culture which views women as equal.

This was illustrated in my A right to rape post.
